went to develop a couple of rolls of film tonight and found this mess.
seems the A developed had ate through the ol' gallon jug. lesson learned. growlers will be ordered.
since i had popped two rolls into a tank prior to finding this mess, i figured it was time to try out the rodinol. it was either rodinol or D-76. problem was...i had shot my arista (foma) 100 film @ 200 for the diafine. research turned up rodinol isn't the best for pushing. and my bottle of rodinol seemed to be opened up which made me question how it would develop. anyways, i went for it. i was going to do single tanks, but i was too lazy to switch everything and since i couldn't remember what was on either roll...i figured they would both be sacrifices to my experiment.
pushed one stop. rodinol. arista 100 (foma). 19 deg C, 24.5 mins (WAG for the development time). way contrasty...the last one was toned down on the computer. not sure how i feel about these...

Ouch.
That is the reason I mix everything from liquid concentrate.
Fortunately you had the fore sight to have it all in a containment bin.

All photo chems - especially developers - are best kept in proper containers. Brown glass jugs are not that expensive compared to the price of developers and film.

She re purposes the bottles.
Then out of the kindness of her heart will volunteer to help empty them.

Rodinal, in an original open container, will out live you. Kevin gave me an open bottle that was older than him. Grinning. OK, almost. It worked fine. What dilution did you use? Rodinal works differently with 1;25, 1:50 & 1:100. For what you were trying to do, 1:100 and stand for an hour may have worked best.
You got something. Not a total loss.

some people can just sense these things.
since some of us may abstain from booze, perhaps we can work it like a bottle deposit. a nickel or dime per bottle?

Add a few swirls & an inversion at 30 minutes. David (The Philosopher) has done it more recently. Ask him.
