Spring Break starts Thursday for me. I've ordered an Isolette III w/ the 85/4.5 Apotar, but still intend to fix the Isolette II w/ the 85/4.5 Solinar. I'll give you a call later this week and stop by to show you what I'm talking about. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. OK, we'll look after spring break starts. Where or from whom did you get the Isolette III?

Yes, it's one he's CLA'd the lens/shutter/rangefinder on and replaced the bellows.

Okay, I completely missed this thread, while recommended the folder in the other.
I had Professional Camera Repair in Houston CLA the shutter on my Ikonta and it's working like a charm now.

At a minimum I will get the shutter working again. If I cannot manage to get the focusing lens put back together properly, I'll mount a pinhole to the back of the shutter and turn the Isolette II into a pinhole camera. It will live on in some form.

Arrived about an hour ago. None of the shutter speeds hang and the rangefinder matches up with what my laser rangefinder says (cameras aren't all I shoot). The Prontor-SV shutter isn't as fast as the Synchro-Compur I broke, nor is the Apotar as sought-after as the Solinar I also broke, on the Isolette II - but it does have a self-timer and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be using that quite a lot.

I honestly had no idea what to expect from the whole rangefinder thing, but it's very intuitive and easy to use. When my friend and her sister get here I'm going to do something mean and try to get them hooked on film. There's a roll of Delta 100 standing by as a test roll for the Isolette III right now.

Anthony, I have a roll of 220 in the Fuji GS645 that I am shooting right now, but if you want to try a more modern MF rangefinder, you can certainly borrow it. I'm telling you, it is one sweet camera - - and it was using the Agfa/Ansco that made me realize how nice this camera was. If I get over to the George Bush this weekend with the dog, I'll finish it up and then it will be empty... just let me know.

I need to bring my dog to the park this weekend as well. She needs more space to run than I have here at the house. Sounds like a fun opportunity. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
