If Sandy King can be believed, the other benefit of the Photo-Flo is to make Solution A run off quickly and not dilute/inhibit Solution B. Applies to other 2 bath formulas as well. Pyrocat-MC in a 2 bath process is on my horizon.

I see no reason not to believe Sandy King... In fact I'd like to think that believing him and emulating him will yield images as good as his... but somehow it never quite works that way...

Well with my most recent roll yesterday, had great results. Got rid of the agitator, used inversions, and I also did wes clavey's pre-bath and got nice results from it.

So wes, do you do 2 minutes in water and 2 minutes in bath A? I did like a minute in water and 3 minutes in bath A.

But no more surge marks, hurrah!

Would you say the photoflo is required? I probably need to get some anyway.

Do you own a timer? Read directions on boxes?
By the way, Brother Clavey dilutes everything 1:1 with water. Including the pre-soak solution.

Single rolls in a small tank I do with the Diafine straight - - I have a separate set of solutions I use & reuse for that... but I still do the pre-soak... silky smooth development and never an air bell...

Yes.

Diafine is getting more complicated with every telling. Grinning.

Zachary, the Photoflo is not required, at all... I started using it when I moved back to Houston from CT and, at the same time, using Foma film. The hard water in our MUD caused a lot of problems with the Foma film and the Photoflo eliminated them.

But I develop all different brands and sizes of films together, so I made using Photoflo in the wash part of my standard work flow... My intent is consistency in process & results - - so just settling on a single work flow, that gives me reproducible results that I can work with, was my aim.

Yes. But. You can get this Kodak Photo Flo 200 16 oz. | Freestyle Photographic Supplies and it will last most of your lifetime. 4 times the volume for twice the price. Sounds like a deal to me.

Cool, ill put it in my shopping cart for next time I make my regular film purchase. I usually stock up on $30 worth of b&w film here fairly often.
