???Really? The pentax 645 was one of the most popluar 645 cameras on the market.

You know, I know im younger than most of the film guys here, but ive been into the camera scene since I was about 7 so I kept up with the popular trends way before digital was a twinkle in nikon's eye.

I got my first camera when I was 7, too... an MF 6x9 folder... I still have it but the bellows are now swiss cheese...

Yes, really. Photography was of no interest to me whatsoever until 2005 when I found myself in need of a near-silent hobby with which to occupy myself during the precious few moments of free time afforded an infantryman in Iraq. Now if you want to talk guitars or guns I've been using those constantly since I was 5. Cameras? That's a fairly recent development for me but I think I've managed to do pretty well in ~6 years.

I know tons of folks that have/had Mamiya 645's.

There are two at my house now.

I don't know anyone that had/has a Pentax 645.

The ultimate camera: Pentax 67 II with a 6x7 digital sensor inside.

NOTE: The digital sensor for this ulitmate camera also requires the ultimate budget.

lol yeah me and digital MF aren't happening anytime soon.

I think the 6x7 has been issued a stay of execution on account of me not really finding anything else I'd rather replace it with. Not sure what I'll ever use it for, but at least I know it takes good photos when I do decide to use it.

maybe we could arrange a camera swap* if you are really itching to use a 645 system.

i have a bronica etrsi w/ two interchangeable backs and 80mm/2,8 seiko sitting around....just throwing out an idea...

*Swap means...just like video games when we were kids. you use the bronica for a few weeks, i use the 67 camera for a couple weeks and then we return to each other. gives us a flavor for the systems.

That actually sounds like a pretty great idea to me if you're willing to do it. I've got the SMC 90 2.8 and 150 2.8.
