Is it just me or have they gotten slower? I ordered a lens from them Tuesday, they said it hadn't even shipped yesterday, that they would ship it either yesterday evening or today.

Kinda stinks. I wanted to have my new lens to play with this weekend.

Its not USPS that's slow, its the item sitting on their shelf. I know adorama sends their stuff out same day if you put your order in by a certain time, but I just love KEH's rating system. Never bought a lens there that I didnt love, even UG graded lenses were pretty good.

Am I just being whiny or is this a legit compaint?

I have found that their online order info is not always updated very fast. I have, more than once, gotten my item before it showed it had shipped out. If you are looking for shiping info online, perhaps it's just the info that is slow and not the actual shipment.

No, its the shipment. I called them yesterday and they told me that they no longer ship same day unless you upgrade to primo shipping.

They said it takes 2 or more days before they even ship it. Seriously?

The impatience of youth...............
Take your pick.
Crap from elsewhere fast.
Good stuff from KEH when you get it.
Funny. I ordered a $21 LTM>M adapter about a month ago. What's wrong with this:
Order Number : 30067987
Received on : Wednesday, February 16, 2011 2:15:35 PM
Shipping will be by : FedEx Ground
Estimated Delivery Date : February 22 , 2011

ps: Shipping to Houston adds 1-2 days to every delivery. I get things at home, 25 miles north of Tyler, 1-2 days quicker than if I have them sent to Houston, 77041.
Why? FedEx & UPS both send everything to DFW. From DFW it's 4 hours to Tyler and I get my stuff by noon.
From DFW to Houston is painful. Like this: DFW-Houston (a day)-Stafford (a day)-Jersey Village (a day). I promise you that on the way to Houston & Stafford the truck passed by my office. That's the system.

My complaint isn't with the shipping. Its the fact that KEH lets the item sit on their shelf for two days before they ship it.

I guess I shouldn't complain though, it probably helps keep the cost low.

I'm sure they explained that somewhere on the web page. One of those things you don't think about asking until it bites you.

It's still faster to send things out in the boonies on the upper east side of Texas than to Houston.

As far as the actual purchasing from KEH, one of their sales people recently told me that you get the best service by using the online system to identify what you want to buy, but then calling the 800 ordering line to actually place the order. The purchasing person will actually confirm that it is there to be shipped, while the online orders go to a batch process to go pull the stock, etc.

I certainly cannot speak to the truth other than to say that purchases I have made this way have been faster & smoother than early ones made when they first put their ordering online.
