I'm nearly out of DD-X (and money), but I've got quite a lot of film I need to shoot. I figured I'd give Caffenol-C a shot, and aside from smelling at least 90 times worse than any other darkroom chemical I've encountered thus far it seems to work just fine.
Agfa APX 400 in Caffenol-C for 8.5min @ whatever temperature the tap water was (probably somewhere near 75F). Living room by Anthony J. Martinez, on Flickr Guitar by Anthony J. My Deville has appeared in many photos over the last 13 years or so. When I bought mine there was only a 2x12 and a 4x10. The Deluxe came with a single 10, and really would have been a better buy for me at the time. Of all of the (many) amplifiers I've owned the Pro Junior has been my favorite. Sadly it was damaged when I slammed on my brakes to avoid hitting half of an Accord that had just hit (head on) the 18-wheeler next to me. It wasn't the only thing that died that day, but it's the only one that can be fixed (when I remember to get it done).

Nicely done, but I think Rodinal is cheaper still ;).

Yeah but I'm too impatient for stand development for hours. Rodinal is on the list of developers to try. Btw, that paper I have? It's all FB, not RC. Offer still stands.

You don't have to do stand with Rodinal; FB is fine by me.

I know you don't have too, but are the super dilute mixtures the ones that do the most cost saving?

Sure thing, but 1:100 or 1:200 for Plus-X is only is only an hour. I've done 1:250 for 5 hours once because I was on a canoe and couldn't get home to it.

You've got PM. One of these days I'll try both Rodinal and Diafine so that I may partake in the TPF developer holy wars.

Diafine, never tried the stuff; I've got tons of developer HC-110B concentrate almost a gallon of T-Max concentrate and enough Rodinal to survive me. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
