It's time!!! Going back to film!! - 06-10-2011, 05:38 PM

First off I wanna thank Wayne and everyone else here who has help greatly in getting me ready and setup to make a change and start shooting 35mm again. Not only shooting it but doing something I have never had the experience in doing and that's developing my own film. I am very excited and look forward to this adventure. Any helpful tips and tricks are welcomed.

A pic to go along with the post.

Cheis,
Jump in and get your feet (film wet) and you will wonder why you didn't develop your film a long time ago. Welcome aboard.

"I'm the Pusher Man."
Do you have a roll of trash film to practice loading the tank?
Have fun!

quick question.... How do I know if I am mixing it in full strength or 1:1 dilution... I am assuming the directions on the bag of the D-76 is the mixing for full strength??

Mixing the chems according to the bag gives you your stock solution.

From there, add water to get to your working solution. In your case 1 part stock+ 1 part water.

Make your working solution as you need it.

...and dump the working solution after you use it. The bottom of the Paterson has a chart for the amount of solution/roll of film. Round up. Check with plain water and the lid off to make sure you are covering the reels and then some.

Only 35mm? It wont be long till you get the itch to go medium format. I know im currently toying with the idea of 4x5 myself.

Didnt know there was such a thing. Well im extremely happy with my Bronica. Its definitely not "pocketable", more tank-like than anything. But it takes amazing pictures with its Nikon 75mm 2.8 lens.

I thought you knew everything. Come to Coaches & marvel at Anthony's wee 6x6 folder. Not jeans pocket, more like coat pocket. Army field jacket pocket. Tiny by most 6x6 standards.
Shoot. Tiny by R2D2 standards, a.k.a. 1D Mk III.
