Okay, declining sales, increasing manufacturing costs, profit margins... I know why but I don't like it. For some reason I never tried Fujichrome Astia 100F until it was too late. Now the four rolls I have left are likely to be the last four rolls of it I ever get to shoot. It looks a whole lot like if you want to shoot E-6 anymore your only two options are Velvia or Provia. As good as Portra and Ektar are they're just not as fun to hold up to the light or put on a light table.  A sample from my first-ever roll of Astia.  Sacha by Anthony J. Martinez, on Flickr |

Hopefully I don't live long enough to see film die completely. I have no plans for new digital equipment, but I will be adding to the film stable soon. |
