There is a pretty active film group here: The Darkroom

I still shoot it on occasion, but these days I don't even pick up my DSLR all that much.

you may want to check the rangefinder forum and large format photography forum. They seem to have lots, especially of expired film, that come up for sale quite frequently.

I personally order my film from freestlye, but some like to support the local shop if there is one.

Film is all I've been shooting lately - haven't touched a digital body since July 2011

Man, I put a roll of film in my AE-1 over the summer... Only 16 exposures in. I think one weekend I'll just put the 28mm or 50mm on it and head downtown.

Just wrapped up a shoot. Since the only digital camera I own is my iPhone I guess I have no choice but to shoot film :).

That's what UPS dropped off yesterday :) Just go see your local store. They will sell you real fresh film happily. Should last for a few weeks.

Cheers,
Mike

Speaking of local sources of film in Houston...
Alas, we haven't been to the Camera Co-op in too long. Is there film stock still first rate?
I heard or read here that HCE doesn't sell film any longer. True? or False?
Humble Camera? Film supplies?
Wolf Camera?
Any other sources of film in Houston?

Last time I was there the fridge didn't look too busy (aka more or less empty). I used to buy all my supplies at the Co-Op. Last time I was there I didn't get the feeling that customer service was something on the top priority list for people like me who are not lusting after the latest and greatest from Nikon or Canon.
When I asked about Tri-X and Portra in 4x5 they didn't have it. Now to be fair, B&H did not have it in stock when I did the last order either.

Not sure about HCE. Never shopped there much.

Scott, next time I visit Tyler I'll bring a few rolls of Fuji 800 that has been sitting in a closet in my house, it may be no good as it has been out of date a while, 2006 I believe, and not kept in the freezer.
