All I know, having run a C41 Kreonite processor for several years in my studio, C41 has to be kept within a 1/4° to maintain color consistency. I can't imagine this is any different. A color print processed at one temp/time will not match another at a different temp/time. Both may be acceptable, but side by side they will not match. If you are printing individual stuff for yourself, this may not be a big deal. However, if Mrs. Smith wants 5 5x7s of the same print, there will be a problem.

Whoops! I am mixing apples and oranges here. The temp variation I was talking about is on color print processing. I had tried processing prints in a JOBO by adapting time to temp. That is hopeless chase for consistency.

I never processed color film by hand. I had a dip and dunk machine for that. But, you still need precise temp control for proper results there, too. A degree or two variation is unacceptable.

Otherwise, pretty much forget my original response as to C41.
