Here's my day - 11/20/05 (Tons of pics) - 11-21-2005, 10:36 PM

I have finally had the chance to participate in this cool assignment. It seems everytime I tried to get one slated for a day I have a concert shoot, something always seems to fall through and I end up running around like crazy running late to everything and just can't seem to make the time to snap pics along the way...

Well, this time I made it a point to make it happen yesterday... Enjoy.

November 20, 2005 - Sunday

I know it looks like it's way to late in the day but it's barely 8am, i promise!

Gotta check up on the forum and make sure everything is still up and running like it's suppose to be.

I have a shoot today so I'm checking my gear

Making sure my batteries are nice and juiced up!

Double checking that I downloaded my images from the past couple of concerts before I format these cards.

WOW! Does this box look like it's glowing to you!?!

Leftovers from yesterday but I'll manage.

Fastforward to a couple of hours later... Lisa and I head out to run some errands.

Her car is a bit dirty so we make a B Line to the nearest carwash!

Viola! Meet the nearest carwash!

Car gets it's bath for the day...

Car is clean so now we can go have lunch...

Since I never really try anything different, I jump online and check the forum while Lisa decides on her meal.

Fastfoward again.. Loaded up my gear into my rental car (long story) and recheck my gear one last time!

Off to the shoot... Lisa stays home for this one. Sorry.

Houston's skyline.. almost there..

No advanced parking pass for me so I have to hunt down a local ticket broker in order to get one.

Long walk from the car... Good exercise when carrying a 20lb bag

Here she is... Reliant Stadium. Site of the Texans vs. Chiefs for the Sunday Night Primetime game on ESPN. 7:30pm Kickoff.

Ok, I'm all settled in and waiting in the press room watching the Colts and the Bengals battle it out on TV.

Head out to the field to catch some warmup action, hopefully Gaffney has these hands during the game!

Dominck Davis on his 3rd quarter TD Run...

I finally figured out what's wrong with the Texans' Offense!! No Wonder!!!

This photo pretty much sums up the game, Texans lose to the Chiefs 45-17 on national television. Ouch, that's gonna leave a mark.

Wow, it's about 11:15pm by the time I make it out of the stadium and headed to my car...

Another long walk back to the car. It actually could have been a lot worse if I hadn't found a parking pass at the last minute.

Jump in my Rental Ride and put it on 610am Sports Radio so that I can hear all of the bad talk about the Texans and who people thinks should get fired first! Hehe. Only stood about 15 minutes of it and then I had to change it.

Long drive back home... About 11:30pm now and oh yea, it's Sunday night so I have to get up at 5:30am in the morning for work! ouch.

I got home a little after midnight, downloaded my photos and sifted through them for a bit. Next thing I knew it was almost 1:30am! ouch. 4 hours of sleep before i have to wake up and go to work! oh well it was worth it!

Having the chance to cover the Texans game was a great opportunity for me and as a football fan and as a photographer I enjoyed it that much more!

Thanks for making it this far guys...

Nice work Abel.

After looking at both your day and Jake's, I've decided I need to get press credentials. It's so cool to be able to take photo's at the stadium like that.

RANDOM QUESTION

How do you like your Blackberry? I need a new phone, but I'm not willing to spend 450+ for a PDA Phone with ONLY Windows Mobile 2003 SE. If i'm going to invest 450+, i'll wait for Windows Mobile 5.0 that will be debuting next Quarter.

For a temp pda-ish phone though, does it function well? I'm a big Outlook Calender/Tasks kind of guy...

i have blackberry 7105 from tmobile.. i like it because its not as big as a true PDA. i almost bought the one version that had the small keyboard at the bottom of the display but found it a bit tough to type with my chubby fingers.. hehee

this phone style works out great especially with its "SureType" because it works like a cell phone, i dont have to spell the word out entirely just hit one key for a particular letter and the phone can tell what word i want based on the keys i pressed.

i know thats hard to under stand but if u look at this pic u can see that there are about 2 letters per key. so if i want to spell CAR i just type the 3 keys that those letters are in and not worry about if they are listed first for that button etc.

the browser works nicely i think for a mobile. its like dialup but it works none the less. i have it to also recieve my emails which come in handy. it has instant messaging, AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ etc

i got it for $299 and theres a $100 rebate i have to fill out.
