well the piece that fell out looks like the upper mirror stop and cushion- how it would ever fall out is beyond me.

No backup? Its dangerous to go on an assignment today with less than 3 cameras. With the use my cameras get on a daily basis they barely last a year.
Hope it is under warranty.

Considering the 5D2 has only been out in the US since December, it should definitely be under warranty.

Canon warranty on cameras and lenses is one year from date of purchase.
