Its about damned time that someone does this and puts an end to the silly megapixel war!

Following the 14.7 MP G10, Canon introduced the next generation G11... with 10 Megapixels!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOMEONE FINALLY DID IT!!!

its about time canon ended their megapixel race. Who needs 15MPs in a sensor half the size of your pinky nail, seriously?

The bigger sensors like in the 5DII, it makes sense, but in the P&S its a little silly.

Now if they would just go to a 12MP sensor in the 50D replacement and "really" improve the noise performance this time it would be a hit.

Ditto here Jim! The hi-ISO noise is the only dissappointment I have in my
50D. It's not "bad" but I expected better.

I think PANASONIC did it with their hugely successful LX3 and Canon decided to join in.
