Question MB-D80 Problems... - 09-06-2009, 11:22 AM

Am I doint something wrong, or does the AE/AF lock button on the MB-D80 battery grip not work with certain cameras?

I set the AE/AF lock button to AF Only, so that I could use it to auto focus instead of using the shutter button. The only problem is that the button on my grip doesn't work, so it's useless. I didn't know that it didn't work until now, so its too late for me to return it I am afraid.

It works on mine?? I never use it for af-on though. Shooting in portrait orientation I am usually shooting stationary subjects. Ie When an amimal isn't moving alot, etc.

When i am using af-on it's when I am tracking fast moving objects.

It's possible setting the menu for it to be af-on doesn't change the one in the grip.

Does it stay ae/af lock of just stop working when you change the menu??

Edit:

Just tried it, af-on works on my grip when selected in the menu.
