Nikon 200-400 f/4G IF-ED AF-S VR

Unfortunately, it's on nation-wide back order. I kind of expected it to be so I'm not really disappointed. According to Arlington Camera it should be in by 10/28.

Can't wait.

Thanks!

No need for a strength program. I also ordered a Giottos carbon fiber monopod, too.

What a beauty

Not only is it a kick ass lens, but can also act as a awesome blunt weapon in a situation ;)

All I can say is that Arlington Camera rocks! They undercut both B&H and Adorama by $500. The waiting is going to kill me.

Grrrrr.... if you look at the date stamp on my original post in this thread you'll understand why I'm bummed out when I say that I'm still waiting for this lens to arrive. It's not Arlington Camera's fault, but I'm kinda ticked at Nikon for not being able to deliver.

*sigh*

At least I have my new TC-14E II to play with.

Sorry to hear about the lens's no-show status, Wes. I owned the manual-focus version of this beast, and it was one of the sharpest lenses I've ever owned. Not particularly easy to use, though -- a stout tripod is almost a necessity, although I did use it successfully with a good monopod. I've read at least one review of it where the reviewer has owned both the MF and AF versions, and he claimed the AF version is even sharper. Hard to believe, but all I can say is, wow. Anyway, here's hoping it arrives soon. I know you'll love it.
