Where to find Leica M in DFW area? - 10-25-2009, 01:45 PM

Where can I find Leica M equipment in the Dallas-Ft Worth area? What I am mainly interested in is early M camera and lenses like M2 (1950's) and early Summicron or Summaron. Or, even screw mount lenses.

Any help?

You don't. Best place in Texas is Presision in Austin.

After that all the ususal on line places like KEH, B&H, RFF, L-Camera B&S, Igor's Camera Exchange, Kevin Camera, Collectable Cameras, etc.

I live here in Fort Worth and seldom see any older Leica M gear in any of the shops. Arlington Camera used to have a few but now they mainly sell digital..

The place by Highland village near downtown - Cooters Village Camera is probably your best bet to find/pre-order a Leica in Dallas. They had a demo M9 in their store a few weeks ago but it is unlikely they will have one in stock for immidiate purchase.

They do have a silly pretentiousness about them and believe Leica to be the end all of all camera gear. So for a Leica fan, this is the store. However, they keep their inventory low to avoid overhead and get the job done. Ask for Roberto as he seems to be the most helpful and reasonable.

Thanks everyone.

I contacted Collectible Camera in Phoenix for Leica. I plan on being in Phoenix in late November, so I will stop in and see what they have.

Again, many thanks.
