My husband bought me this system and installed it for me in our garage turned studio... We hung my 10'x20' vinyl and I can't figure out how to get it to stop unrolling! We pull the chain to get it going but how on earth do you get it to stop??

Can anyone give me some pointers on this?? Thanks!!!!

Affix these at either side of the core of your roll

does the chain itself keep moving as it's unrolling? if so just get some kind of weight to hang off the chain to keep it from going anywhere.

other than that, how do you like that setup? i was thinking about getting one of these as well...

Jeff- Is that the only solution? I would think buying the whole set up that it would be equiped with some sort of lock on it.

James-I like it :) Gets everything off of the floor (I had a stand with a cross bar) The chains do have a counter weight on the bottom, but apparently it isn't helping.

There are tension wing nuts on the end opposite the chain. If you carefully tighten them, you can find a level that will allow you to both lower and raise the background while still holding it in place when you stop. Remember though these systems are meant primarily for cored rolls of paper. If your vinyl BG is too heavy, you may damage the tensioning system.

At least that's the way my Manfrotto system like this worked. Good luck!
