FWIW, if anyone has a K1000 but no manual, I've got a PDF version that I copied for Donna. Let me know on thread here or PM me and I'll send you a copy. Not charging anything for it since it only cost me the electricity to scan it and a little bit of time.

Ken, I didn't realize you were in Spring. I have cousins in Spring which I usually see about once a year. Next time I am out there, I am definitely taking you to dinner for all your hard work with getting me this manual! I owe you!

K1000 was my first SLR too: before that, I used my dad's old Argus C-3; they got me the pentax for Christmas one year and I never looked back.. They're pretty much bulletproof.

Got my dad's Argus C-3 too. Might have to put some film in it and see what it can do too.

I have both cameras and go back and forth between them. The K1000 has been my favorite, but I find the Canon hard to put down and ignore.
