Ricoh GXR

Interesting but not going to replace my GR-DIII any time soon with such slow big lenses.

It' a pretty cool setup, but the part I don't like is that the lens will be outdated in a couple years if the sensor comes coupled with it.

Right now we buy lenses and upgrade the body as needed, but with this system you buy the body and upgrade the lenses instead.
Unless I read the details wrong......which is quite possible because I didn't actually read the details.

True, but what if you bought the GRD? You'd still be buying a new body and lens eventually. But with this system you'll have the ability to change lenses! Could be worth the extra price of admission for some. IMHO this is not meant to compete with the big dslr systems where you keep glass forever, but more to compete with the new category of in-betweeners (between p&s and dslr) created by the m4/3 cameras. I could see myself having 2 lenses with this. A prime and zoom. Maybe add an ultra wide as a third.

The problem I see with it is it's no longer a "shirt pocket' camera like the GR-D's are. As large as it is one might as well just get a good used M8 and have more camera and more lens selection.

We have yet to see a true successor the the Olympus Pen-F system in digital, optical view finder (or intergrated EVF), interchangeable lenses, mininum led screen and very compact but large (bigger than 4/3) sensor.
