Monitor Callibrator near Richmond - 11-10-2009, 11:16 AM

Does anyone have one that I could borrow? I am so totally tapped out right now and I can't seem to visually get my moniter to sync with mpix! I want to make sure that the images come out right and I am struggling.

Maybe I could offer a trade to use it? I have lots of kids toys and clothes ;)

I just posted a question about their calibration kit...It only costs 3 dollars plus shipping.

Really? Is it something you have to do manually? Becuase that is what I am struggling with.

Yeah it has to be done manually. For 3 dollars you wont get much more.

They give you a digital image and a physical print of the same image (various hues are on the side to help correct individual colors). They go through the steps with you and you decide what is the best match for your monitor. Remember that different lighting situations cause colors to appear differently (In your office environment). That's what the higher priced calibration equipment is for...

Yeah, that is pretty much what I was doing with the test prints I did from them. I struggled and couldn't get it just right!

For what its worth my monitor did not match exactly with the print but then again I know now what to look for (that my monitor is just slightly brighter than their prints). The colors seem to be very close to what they are on the print. Only time and prints will tell.

Chris, that would be fanatstic!!! I didn't know about the get together, but I have a session tomorrow evening, so I can't go anyway ;(

But yes, I would LOVE to use it! I can come pick it up from you if you would like. I am in SL twice a day because my daughter goes to preschool there. I am about to go pick her up at 2 if you are available! And I can return it tomorrow.

I'll PM you!
