I have a good selection of glass now and have been shooting with the 30d for about 4-5 years now. It's time for a new body. The 7d looks to be the camera for me. I'm wondering who is using the 7d and in your humble opinion is it a good body? By all accounts from what I have read it is quite impressive with all the AF points and lower noise at higher ISO. The price range seems satisfactory in a cost/performance comparision. I'm curious to hear what the owners have to say before I buy this puppy!

So far I love mine. I also have a 30D the 7D replaced. It is a pleasure to shoot with. The only thing thus far that I'm not keen on was it seemed slow to auto focus in low light, football games to be exact. But being new to that, it could have been typical of those conditions. ISO is great, 8 FPS is great, I'm very pleased with the image quality.

There is another thread with 3 B&H videos going over some of the attributes of the 7D. You might look at them if you haven't.

I'd buy it again.

Oh, I forgot to say, my card reader is not UDMA. More shots that are bigger files -- UDMA card reader is on my Christmas list as download times were about an hour after shooting my son's football games.

I think almost any camera will seem to focus slow when shooting sports in low light that you can't get at least a SS of 1/500" with. I have noticed this on several bodies both canon and nikon.

Good info guys Thanks! I'm not typically shooting "if ever" much low light action/sports. I suppose I'll have to get my hands on one and test drive it. It looks like a fine camera for an upgrade from my 30D. I love the 30D it's an awesome camera and Canon has never let me down in all my years. Looking forward to getting mine!

I moved from a 20D to the 7D. Amazing step up - fast, responsive, great LCD, great shots.

Take a look at a few of my images with the 7D on the nature forum.

http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum...d.php?t=112065

I like this body a lot. It did not make me a better photographer but I do not run up against the cameras stops like sometimes in the past. I will take practice for me to become consisitant. Good luck.
