State Farm for me as well. They've been carrying my gear and vehicles for several years now and that's been good for me, as my rates have gone down for "loyalty"

After talking with my Allstate agent they now want a current appraisal on my body’s and lenses. Who in Houston, preferably the League City area would anybody recommend?

Allstate doesn't offer replacement cost? As I mentioned earlier, I list the new prices on my policy for anything still made, like my 70-200 2.8 lens. Everything else is listed at what I paid for it if I have a cancelled check, or KEH Ex price.

There can be a wide variance in replacement costs based on the condition of the replacement and what condition can be verified for the replaced model. For example, I have a pristine D200, with low shutter actuations, but there's only my word for that. It's a bridge that I've not had to cross, thankfully.

I took my original sales receipts down to my Allstate agent's office when I put the coverage on some of my gear. Don't ask me what that would mean if it came to getting any of it replaced, but at least they know what it cost originally, and I think that the premiums are based on that.
