Thankfully the S2 lenses are staying at their current budget prices.

Bummer. I was thinking a good Leica 50mm would go well with a GF1.

Think older and use.... Let Putz's Leica Lens Compendium be your guide.

It will. Some of the best are some of the oldest. Translation: Affordable. Like my favorite, the Dual Range Summicron or it's kissing cousin the Rigid Summicron. Canon and Nikkor made nice fast 50s as well and those are less expensive than the lenses with red dots on them.

Level the Paying Field - 12-20-2009, 04:04 PM

I heard that there is an amendment to the new compromise bill n congress that will address the inequities in photo equipment pricing to level out the cost differential between brands.

I don't know quite how it will work . . .don't think "they" know either!

Personally, I wouldn't. I owned a GF1 and EP1 and I couldn't see having to manually focus on either using that lcd screen.

Thanks. That is invaluable input! I am enjoying my Polaroid Land 230 now anyway. I only screwed up the first two shots on Fuji B&W ISO 3000 before I got a keeper.

I was thinking the same thing. Leitz is their own worst enemy. When there are lenses from the 60s (or older) with a cult following and still performing as they did when new, why buy new? Hasselblad & Zeiss are in the same camp.
