I just lifted my bag of gear. Wholly christmas!

Now I'm thinking.... M9 with 35mm, D700 with 14-24mm, and EP1 with 14-45mm (28-90 equiv). The EP1 with zoom would be quite a bit lighter and smaller than the 24-70 lens. Might make a nice pair with the M9 if I want to travel light on certain days. But I got the wife a Ricoh CX2 for xmas so we'll have that too. 1/2.3-inch CMOS and 28-300 optical zoom! Aaaargggghhh! This is retarded.

So then part of me would still like the challenge of taking nothing but the M9. Except for London, i feel like been there done that. Lets relax more this time.

It is beautiful... can be more addicting than any illegal substance... should be illegal then... very tempting... Vossen wheels/tires and an ECU tune for my car, or an M9 with that lens???

So i just got back from my trip yesterday. London --> Florence/Siena/Villa in Tuscany --> Amsterdam
I took the M9/35mm and the D700/24-70mm.
I almost regretted hauling the D700 with me because 90% or more of my shots were taken with the M9!!!! It was just so much more convenient for taking with me during all the sightseeing, tours and shopping excursions. I only used the D700 when shooting indoor family/friends shots like our new years eve dinner. Or when I had time to shoot with both just for comparison sake. One day I took both and had both around my neck (it was a short trip where we were in and out of the car) and i was using both about 50/50 but talk about feeling like the uber tourist. lol
Also, it was wet and rainy almost the entire trip with temps from the 40's down to about 23 in Amsterdamn and the M9 performed flawlessly. I was just a little more careful with the rain since it's not weather sealed like the D700.
The only thing I missed when having the M9 and not the D700 was the zoom. I didn't get any good pics of the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace because of this. But the wife had her new Ricoh CX2 with it's 300 optical zoom so she got a few.
And it was soooo nice to have a real viewfinder, and not the live view screen like on my EP1. Time to throw the EP1 on fleabay!

Oh and when i was in Siena walking around I stopped to take a pic and then a guy next to me said "Perfecto!" and was pointing at my camera. I was laughing and said thanks and then he said something in broken english about the ladies liking Leica.
