No, i'm not giving up my Nikon!
My Nikon is what made the following possible.

I recently received this lens, and today I got the notification that my Leica M9 is shipping overnight... in time to be here for my trip to Europe on Christmas day!
Jeepers, are these things hard to get!!! Ordered it exactly one month ago.

I'm tired of dealing with the m4/3 cameras and other high end point & shoots when what I really want is a digital rangefinder.
A full size sensor with 18mp and incredible glass should keep me happy for quite a while.
Two bad I can only afford the one lens for now.
But no better lens to choose as your only lens than a 35mm, right?

That's a damn fine lens you got there. I wanted that lens when I still had my M6.

Haven't followed the M9 fever so I had no idea it was that hard to get. Although I saw one for sale over on FM a couple of days ago. I could only afford that or my marriage, I chose my marriage

Cool Merry Christmas - 12-20-2009, 03:01 PM

Enjoy! Have fun! Where are you going in Europe?

Too bad 99% of the membership is saying, "Huh? 35mm lens? Big deal."

Stovall doesn't own that lens. Go figure.

Alas, I haven't visited any of those places so I can't offer any advice. Other than Florence, Florence, and then Florence.

Have a blast! Oh, there is some piece of glass covering the sensor that was bad in 6 units. A small number in the total, but totally bad if you're number 7. I know you know to check everything before leaving.

Too bad some of you that happen to own a Leica think that 99% of the membership are beneath you.

Sad really...

Not true. Unaware. Not a zoom, can't be any good. Never beneath. That was not my intention at all. You misunderstood.

I have more invested in two Canon lenses than all of my rangefinder stuff combined.

Well he did say "some" and i can't really argue with that. lol

Wayne, I did see that about the thin filter over the sensor.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
But of course I will be taking my nikon gear with me as well.
I just hope the M9 is 100% so I have something new to play with. :)
