This is a discussion on Canon upgrades the 70-200 F2.8L IS within the Equipment Talk forums, part of the Photography Information category; Canon Announces 2nd Gen EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens Photofocus...
Someone appears to have already posted about this before I did. Sorry about that.
I guess I get the prize. Wonder what it will be.
2200.00 and fifty cents :-)
My guess is $2000+.
It seems when Canon adds a couple of "I"s to a name, each "I" comes to at least 2.5-400 bucks
Looking at the charts, it isn't that much better on paper. Very curious to see if there's really any visual difference. I think the only real selling point they'll have is MFD and possibly focus speed improvement.
It could be a choice for people looking to pick up a 70-200mm L to begin with, but I don't see many people going from the original to the II.
should i expect the price on the original model to drop in price conciderably or just slightly?
