If you are looking to get into more weddings think about the 5DMKII or 7D for there video capability. With the computer access people have from laptops to cell phones people will be wanting video clips to show to their friends along with stills.

I shoot weddings professionally, and have never had a single client ask me to shoot some video of their wedding to post online.

Since either of your scenarios involve selling the Sigma 24-70 and getting the Canon 24-70 I'd go ahead and do that. Also, you might as well complete option 1 and fix your 5D. You'll probably get most of the money back when you do go to sell your 5D and get a 5DMkII.
