Interesting, but one of the members over on the Nikon Cafe, Doug Barber, doesn't seem to have any problems with his Nikons, in the Arctic.

This is an iteresting thread on the 7D in the cold.

I know if it ain't Leica it an't S(*^&t but this new equipment seems robust to me. LOL

Makes sense to me. I'd probably trust mechanicals over electronics in extreme cold. In my case I'd be lugging along my little Olympus OM-1 and a few hundred rolls of film and leaving the battery-sucking digital SLRs at home.
