It will be interesting to see how this one pans out in the reviews, especially with a 25-300mm lens. Projected price at B&H: $699.

But it's not a Leica. Just a Panasonic in drag, a faux-Leica.

If you want a compact Leica, get the pure quill, the X1.

It's being advertised as a Leica on Leica's web site. That's rather deceitful, I would think.

True but that does not a Leica make. Panasonic just pays to stick a red dot on it.
You'll never see one on the production floor at Solms.

Just like the Cadillac Catera not a Cadillac but just an Opel.

OK. That's the standard.

By the way, got the Pannie LX3 to try for a while along with a nice Leica leather case. Does a good job for what it is. Might eventually own a red dot. We shall see.

I owned a d-lux 4 for a very short period.
It was meh. No better than it's panny brother other than aesthetically.

If I remember correctly the Leica does not do HD video, while the Panasonic does. Same hardware, different firmware.

You will never look back, John! Since my acquisition of an M8.2 a few months ago and now an M9, I have sold a Canon 5D II, a bunch of lenses and I have been absolutely in love with my Red Dot cameras so much that I shoot almost everyday! Tri.
