glamour, portraits and landscape = 5D mkII
sports and wildlife = 7D

Which genera do you want to sacrifice more?
Shooting sports with the 5D is horrible, slow burst, bad auto focus particularly in servo mode. But that full frame sure would be nice for landscapes and wide shots.

I'd go with the 7D. (considering price as well). I think the fall backs of the 5D for fast action and long-range photography are too great. Then spend the extra cash toward lenses/ lights. But from experience with glamour and portraits, once you go full frame, you don't go back, it's just too wonderful/ too right. I have to have both, haha.

ps. I'll be renting out my 400 2.8L soon, it's the non-IS.

Well, that is pretty much everything you could POSSIBLY shoot.

The 5D2 would be better at the glamor, portrait and landscapes while the 7D would be better at the wildlife and sports. Pick your poison. I have both and love both, but pull them out for different things.

But as always, lenses are more important that bodies. And photographers are more important than both.

The best advice I ever got was to upgrade glass. I shot with the 30D for 5 years and upgraded my glass over that time. Then I got the 7D. It is a very impressive system for sure. But having the glass in front of it makes all the difference IMO. Upgrade your glass, you will be happy you did in the long run. Plus, glass holds it's value longer. :)

It might seem like a step backward, but another way to go is with a classic 5D for portraits/slow-moving things and a 1D Mark IIn for sports/things that move. I only suggest that because it's my personal setup and I am extremely happy with both bodies. They are paired with decent lenses, though, which a 50 f/1.8 only sort of qualifies. Solid cameras, although lacking some of the more modern bells, whistles and image processors.

I have access to two 7Ds and a host of other great Canon glass at work, studio lighting, etc. etc. though, so my urge to buy more stuff or upgrade is tempered by not really needing anything else at this point.

I have been perfectly happy with my 1DsMkII and my Leica M9. However, I am thinking of picking up a 7D to do a project shooting dancers and gymnasts in motion. I would appreciate some opinions. Tri
