I am looking for tips on getting the best scan of 35 and 120 negatives. I just ordered this because of high res. Should I get a Vuescan software? Any idea would be appreciated. Tri

I am using an 8800. If yours is like mine VueScan will NOT support scanning transparent material.

Thanks for the info, Keith. I assume you are using the machine as is. If so, are you getting good scans from negatives because I am shooting C41 films and will have them lab-processed.? Tri

Nope. I complained and posted some samples here: http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum...ives-what.html

If yours will focus correctly on the negatives it should do well. I got good color and contrast, and the 8800F has the Infrared dust/scratch correction. I just couldn't do anything to get it to scan the negatives in focus. Rocks with non-transparent stuff though.
