$650 for the Logan 850 Platinum and $2 for a nice 22"x28" mat.

Ok seriously though. I think I'll actually start framing things now. I can't stand the thought of paying money to have things framed, it always seems so expensive. But with 1/2 price frames bought during sales and now being able to make nice beveled mats really easily, I can frame like it's going out of style.

I suckered myself in to buying a higher priced mat cutter than I originally wanted, but it should last forever. The only problem is storing this sucker.

I need to start matting my stuff. I never do. Maybe you could work out something with Abel for the forum to sell mats locally!

Yeah, when you see what those "less expensive" craft places charge for framing, even with their supposed 1/2 off special pricing, it doesn't take a trig guru to figure out you come out better in the long run just doing it yourself.

Plus its fun.

Jeez, I have a mat cutter. It was definitely < $50. Do you just hand this one the matboard and type in the measurements?

She's a beauty, Dennis. I was watching a Luminous Landscape journal (I think) and they were showing how to cut mats with a system very close to yours. Very handy if you can get your money's worth.

Well, let's see. I saved about $6 (not including shipping or local tax and gas) on the mat i cut last night. So about 100 more and I'm in the black!

haha, sure. But I'll need to get a little more practice in first.
Still takes a little guessing to get perfect corners.

If you saw my photos you'd know perfect corners on the matting is the least of my problems. hahah
