I just picked up a 300mm f/4 HS G Minolta, and the previous owner took amazing care of it. It was shipped to me from PA and arrived today. I finally looked through the stuff in the box and there was a copy of the original receipt...from Houston Camera Exchange. Too funny! I guess it is a homecoming of sorts for the lens.

So, let's see a shot from it. How old is the lens?

May 18, 2001 is the sale date, but the Minolta catalog in the box is dated 1996. I took e few shots tonight. Tried some of the moon but it is too hazy. I plan on bringing it into work tomorrow to play with when the opportunity presents itself.

I loved Minolta lenses when I shot the X700. Just wonderful lenses with a special look.
