    Sun Sniper straps

Does anyone here use a Sun Sniper strap? I just ordered one and am wondering if I did the right thing.

Looks like a simple rip off version of the black rapid, or is it the other way around?
I'm going strapless now. Oh wait, that sounds funny :)

Black Rapid straps look and function just like the Sun Sniper, which is made in Germany if I remember correctly...I just bought a black rapid strap...I am impressed so far...now I plan on getting the two-camera version as well.

I opted to buy two single straps and the straps to connect them. Works pretty well with a heavy A900 on one and a lighter A100 on the other.

I saw something similar the other day at Precision Camera. Looks like a much easier solution to carrying the camera. Hmmm... good excuse for another trip to the camera store!! This would be a nice touch for my new 7D. It will be here Friday!!

I'm using a Black Rapid to hold my second body as I shoot sports with my 7D and 300mm on a monopod. It is secure and easy to access. (The model I have has a pocket for storage on it. Thought it would be handy, but its almost a PITA sitting on my shoulder and getting in the way as I cradle the 300mm on that shoulder when shooting with the second body.

I added a second connector to the Black Rapid. I attach my camera and 70-200 to the strap using my quick release plate, not the screw in connectors. I can disconnect the lens and it stays in place on the strap and I can attach another lens to the body. (I wouldn't let that body and lens rest on the strap with the other lens hanging on it though.)

    Its a solid system.

I've recieved the Sun Sniper and am quite happy with it. Maybe I'll give the Black Rapid a try next time.

If you are happy with it, stick with it. I imagine they function the same.

Noticed that BlackRapid makes one for the ladies - BlackRapid RS-W1 . May end up getting one of those.

I decided to order a Black Rapid RS-4 that got here two days ago. It is nice, the camera connection seems like a better design than the Sun Sniper, the camera stops are nice also. But the Sun Sniper is a little longer (nice because I'm 6'3") and the shock absorber feature seems to work very well. I'm going to use both on two different cameras for awhile and see which I like better.

    Hey Jennifer,
How do you like it, or did it come in yet. I'm looking at getting one myself but don't know if the Camera Exchange here would have them or not. Maybe just order one online if nothing else.

I placed an order but it has not come in yet. The traditional over the neck camera straps have always been a pain. I look forward to giving it a try.

My order came in this weekend. I must say, this thing is awesome!! What a releif not to have to deal with the original Canon neck strap again. Fits perfectly. It even comes with adjustable brakes to keep the camera from traveling too far on the strap. The weight distribution on the body is much better, too.
