35 is the favorite lens on my Leica, and 85 was my favorite on my ex-canon 5DmkII. They are both pricey, and the 35 f/1.4G is not even shipping yet. I would rather buy that one first before the 85 for street photos. Tri

I agree on the 35mm. I love my 35G for a walkaround lens on my A900. I have used the 85 as my single lens and just found the 35 worked much better for my likes.

Has anyone tried the new 24-120 f4? I have heard that it is much sharper than the old f3.5-5.6. At $1299, it should be.

I could not wait for the 35 so I decided to get the 24-70 for its versatility in spite of the bulk. Perhaps, the 35 will have to wait until after I let go of some guns in my collection.

Actually, I still use my beloved 1Ds mkII for macro with Canon and Leica R lenses. Nikon and Canon are excellent in different ways, and not so good in others... A perfect camera system has not been invented yet!
