I was reading on his website, that orders should arrive within two weeks, and longer if he is on assignment.

That's unacceptable. Where else can I get this stuff to clean my sensor? (I called Comp. Camera and they charge $45 for 12 wipes and $12 for the fluid, forget that).

Adorama has a lot of cleaning supplies but I haven't really priced any.

I guess I was lucky to get my order in a week.
I think he embraces the customer service adage " under promise, over deliver". He's likely not to be on assignment over the holidays. Vacation maybe ....

or you can get these from naturescapes.net {edit is dot net not com}

1 copperhill sensor swip $10
100 pec-pad for $6.50
cleaning ECLIPSE for $8.25

That's what i use, if you manage the folding technique, it's more than 12 shots with less money and order another 100 pads when you are out.

well, I ordered from copperhill, and swiped the sensor. First shot removed the offending goober. What a relief...

That's about the going rate for Sensor Swabs and Eclipse. Some places have Eclipse for 8 but the shipping puts it back up there.

I ordered my stuff from Copperhill and got in a week though. A week one way or the other isn't that big a deal in cleaning the sensor, just use the healing brush until then.

I too got my order in 1 week. I general find that as long as I'm not spending more than 10 seconds with the spot healing brush I don't clean. You can remove a LOT of dust spots in 10 seconds.

I'm still not sold on using anything that touches the sensor. I had some dust on mine after this weekend at the kite festival and spent about 10 minutes with my super blower and cleaned it all off. Anything small enough for me to not see doesn't affect the image quality anyway.

Well, technically speaking, it isn't the sensor we clean but the filter that lies on top of the sensor. I've read that the filter is made of the same material as lens filters so a gentle swabbing with the right stuff won't hurt it if you take the necessary precautions. That being said, I haven't touched mine with anything other than air from a Rocket Blower and a very soft lens brush.

Can I make a wild guess and assume you don't do much in the way of landscape shooting ?

If you ever shoot all the way stopped down on a lens with anything like a blue sky in the frame, you'll soon find out that things that are too small to see on the sensor can often be really visible.

I finally ordered some Copperhill cleaning supplies earlier this week. The time spent cloning has become unacceptable and the blower just hasn't been able to move the real stubborn spots that seem to have welded themselves to the sensor.
Until it gets here, I'll be limiting my photography to f1.4
