Should I buy this D100 - 12-30-2010, 07:34 AM

There is a D100 being sold for only 140.00 only issue is that the Self Timer is not working.

Does anyone think it would be worth the risk to take? I honestly never use the self timer, but I would really hate to get it and it be the cause of other issues in the future.

The only issue the seller can find or is willing to list. I would avoid it personally. Who knows what other problems it has. Seems weird that only the self timer dosent work. Its not like its an old mechanical based timer or something.

Ok thanks for your opinion. Well the listing is on Adorama. I really havent had any issues with their previous used products but then again I really dont know how well they inspect their products. Also it does sound weird that only the self timer doesnt work its a really odd thing to go out.

Do you trust the seller? Are you okay with losing $140 if other issues arise? Have you searched the web to see if it's a simple repair? If you aren't afraid to open the camera, sometimes you can buy D100 for parts on eBay? ....It might be worth the risk. Otherwise, I would not take that risk, maybe for <$50.

If you are itching to get a camera, then save it for a model that is fully functional.

For $290 you can buy a fully working D100 right here in Texas. First listing on this page:

I would be more inclined to find a D70.
