Wow! A Nocti remains a fantasy, but this one, a very near reality to use with my GH2. Thanks for the tip, Kent.

Check this image gallery of examples -- seems to be a quite capable lens of doing exactly what it is supposed to do -- create pleasant images.

But. There's no "L" or red ring. It's not Nikon. Can't be any good. Right.
Y'all should visit the Rangefinder Forum. there are lots of goodies in the micro 4/3rds arena. The NEX3 & NEX5 are catching up fast.
There's a whole nuther world out there.

I just hate the 2x crop. Thats the main thing keeping me away. I love having the long lenses to compress and get the DOF. | | | |

I agree. The Sonys are a bit better @ 1.6 which matches what most folks use now.

Sony's are 1.5x for what it is worth. I have seen samples of this lens on the NEX, and it may be worth the vignetting!

For the memory of Stovall's love and pursuit of all fast and wide open lenses as well as the location that I found the link "The Luminous Landscape' which Stovall was always posting references to
| But as you can see that title probably would not have fit, so I shortened it to "For Stovall"

I'm filling in for Mr. Stovall in these parts. Alas, while I share his appreciation for all fast optics, I can't put that appreciation into action. I am thankful that I can make do with a few nice 1.4 and 2.0 lenses.

Here you go. A pair of 50mm/1.5 lenses on a film body and a NEX body. Cool.

Not too sure if this is a good thing or not. I own a similar lens and have been pondering the NEX question. I may have to think in a different direction.

Fast is nice, but bigger is better. Digital too. A 30 megapixel C3PO to go with R2D2.

My Panasonic GH2 with the 14-140 lens just arrived. It should be a perfect traveling companion on trips! I need to shoot some this week-end. Tri | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
