The majority of them come from the assembly line. If something is not right, no matter how trivial, they pull them and mark them as refurbs. They are refurbished to factory standards and sold as refurbs. This is also why they come in cycles because they batch the ones pulled from the assembly line, repair them, and send them to various Canon outlets for sale.

It really comes down to what works best for you, what you can afford at the time, and what you feel comfortable using.

I'm not a Canon guy, but that Loyalty program could make a person waiver. Sounds like a great deal. I'll buy refurbs all day long as long as they have somewhat of a warranty behind it. I've done that for many different products (including cameras) and never had a problem.

Canon 7D Refurb - 01-25-2011, 06:58 AM


I was reading about the exchange program and the warranty is 6 months. I have a Canon Rebel XT and I really want a 7D, but my budget can only afford a 60D. I think that I should wait and save more, but should I be worried about buying a refurb?
