The Bokeh Masters - 01-22-2011, 05:59 PM

Ok, so the 200mm f/2 is the Bokeh champ, but what about other lenses? Which are the Butter Masters of the Nikon line up? And for Canon, Pentax, Sony, etc, which are the Masters of the Bokeh, and please add photos so we can all see this in action.

For me, I think the Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR and 105mm VR Micro are excellent:

70-200mm

105mm

I will jump in with an opinion that the Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 also does a nice job

60mm at f/2.8

I will join in... Bokeh is all subjective... Here is one of my better ones taken with a Leica M Summilux 50mm preasph at f1.4.

A-mount 135 STF. A lens designed specifically for bokeh. My 135 Zeiss has great bokeh, but the STF is just smoother.

I think many consider the Nikkor 85mm f/1.4D a pretty good lens. Typically called the 'cream machine'...

It is hard to beat the super teles (400mm plus) when it comes to creamy bokeh!

Canon 400mm f2.8 IS handheld, pics were taken at f4.

Pic below is with a 500mm f4 IS with 1.4 TCII handheld. f6.3 at 1/400th

The 50 f/1.4 @ 1.4 is always nice...

And the 100L macro is lovely

And I wish I had reason to use my 200L f/2.8 more
