I used Pentax film cameras for many years and they were excellent.
The flagship model, the LX was one of best cameras that I have ever used.
I switched to Nikon because of their extensive system compared with Pentax. Don't know about current Pentax equipment.

I have 4 different brands (Nikon, Sony, Olympus, Sigma) so what does that make me?

Nah...but having 4 different brands keeps me objective enough so that I'm not a single-brand fanboy.....

However, I'll probably get rid of my Sony stuff so I can acquire a Fuji X100....

Shot a K100 and K200 before joining the lemmings and going Nikon. I switched due to availability of lenses and having the availability of a local source for that "I need/want in now" moment.

The K100 was sold to a friend and the K200 was passed down to my 9 year old son so I still play with it every so often.

I also more of a lurker than poster.

Bingo, same for me. It actually would have been better to go Canon since our only real local shot carries much more Canon than Nikon but almost no Pentax, but I just preferred the Nikon in my hand.

My cousin down in Texas City just bought a Pentax, but don't remember his model. He had some lenses from when he was younger in school taking a photography class.

I too have a K-1000 in the closet. My folks have shot Pentax digital for years and really like the cameras.
