Sony H10 to Nikon D40

- Interchangable Lenses

D40 to D3000:

- 11 autofocus points instead of 3
- Sensor Cleaner
- more than 6 megapixels
- larger LCD

D3000 to D80

-I was able to sell the D3000 on CL and buy the D80 on CL for the same price. So it was a free upgrade.
- The D80 has a focus motor to autofocus non G lenses such as the 50mm 1.8.
- Onboard flash can act as commander for off camera Nikon Strobes

D80 to D300 - (I kept the D80 as a second body)

- Better ISO
- Faster Frame Rate
- Pro Body (less susceptible to dust/rain/damage)
- Better Menu System
- More accurate/faster autofocus
- Tons of extra features like built in interpolator
- High resolution LCD

D300 to ????

- Better ISO
- Video Capability (will probably rarely use it but I want it for no good reason)
- Full Frame?

Started with a T3i, still have it. Upped to a 5D MarkII so I could be a big shot.

I need to go digital. Im still shooting my old Pentax Asahi K1000 35mm. Its just time I think. I hate seeing how bad my pictures are after developing. Id rather know immediately lol. 9 years with that body and hopefully more with the next.

Jerry, your comment brings back many, many good memories. I'm still holding on to my Spotmatic and lenses. Don't know why 'cause I never use it.

I learned and did a lot of shooting on my K1000 then moved to the Spotmatic.

Upgraded to my D7000 for the better low light capabilities than my D90. Still use that as a second body though as it's still a great camera.

This. My 7D is at least two stops better than my 40D.

I bought the A700 as soon as it came out. 1 year later the A900 came out, and since I like printing big and usually on the wide end of the lenses, ot was a great fit. Over 2 years later I still use it.

I went from a fancy pantsy Canon Rebel GII to a Canon Rebel xti.. This move was to go from film to digital. I did not know much about digital photography at the time using a SLR but wanted to still be able to use some of my equipment. I have used that Rebel DSLR for YEARS now and decided I had out grown it and most of my lenses. So ....

Today I went from my Rebel xti to a Canon 7D. The reasons would be obvious =)
