I have a friend who shoot with canon and he just bought a sigma 85 f1.4. because i intend to buy a 85L, so i asked him and he really said good things about the sigma....after that i've read comments about the sigma and it seems like many people gave positive thoughts about it! So....i need your opinion guys! :(

Play with his. Keep in mind, the one reason I don't shoot with all sigma lenses is the copy variation can be great. Meaning, one lens of the same model can perform quite differently from another identical model. I think they may be getting better about this. The one review I've seen on the new siggy 85 was positive. And, the sharpness looks to be pretty good, too. ISO 12233 comparison to 85L

I have read what you normally read about Sigma, If you get a good copy (which a lot of them are good) - You will LOVE the 85... It has been discussed on this forum, search for the old thread
