D300 Question - 03-24-2011, 08:25 PM

I just got my D300 with the nikon battery grip in the mail today and I have noticed something strange about it. Everytime I either turn it on or shut it off it puts out a faint squeaking noise. I have never had this happen with my D200. Should I be concerned?

Yes, I do. Also, I think it may be the sensor cleaning system. I will switch lenses and see if it helps! Thank you, Stephen.

The camera is set to clean the sensor upon turning it on or off. Me, I can't hear it, but others have.

Ditto. As we get older, none of us can hear the highest frequencies. The camera uses sound to knock the dust off the sensor. I set mine the same way.
