I think your ok...I would bring a lens that goes to 300+ just in case...and your laptop...so you can download your pictures off the cards...couple other tid-bits...and probably goes without saying...

Have your main Bag then have a walk-around bag...I use a Fossil Mesanger...that does not look like a camera bag...bring a small mono-pod that can fit inside your walk around bag...(will also double as a walking stick if you need it..)...go pick-up some of those lens holders the fabric ones from Ritz/Wolf Camara for about $7 each...to hold your lenses...take your charger or buy a slimline one from a store...

Best of all take lots of pictures......and have fun...!!!

I always bring way too much stuff...but seem to always use it all...!!!

This sounds like a great trip. I agree I think you are set.

If it were me, I would throw in either a second body or a nice compact point and shoot. I toss in my g11 for insurance in case the body breaks for is taken. It would kill me token that trip with a broken camera. I'd have to buy a new one at the nearest port of call and that would be expensive :)

I would include a wire cable and big lock to lock up your stuff when you are not with your equipment. I do that in my car when I travel with a lot of photo gear. I figure someone could eventually get to my stuff but at least i will make them really work for it!

Don't forget about the bag. My wife and I travel a lot and I have tried several bags. I'm currently on my second Lowepro slingshot. Good protection and easy to swing it around to your front for boarding airplanes, sitting on benches, etc. Fits into bus overheads and under the seat. You can put a lock on the two zippers that hold your camera and a lens, but I rarely do that. Also, if somebody tries to grab it off your shoulder, you have other straps holding it to you.

On a trip that long I would take something to offload the pics onto so that you can at least do some amount of culling before you get home. A small netbook suited that purpose fine on a trip to Yellowstone awhile back. Picasa on that netbook allowed me to see the RAW files rendered on a larger screen and do at least a 1st pass keep/cull sort when time allowed. It also allowed me to move the files to a pair of thumbdrives (kept in separate places) as backup. No edits but that's not the purpose. Just not having 64GB (in your case) of images to sort when you get home is worth it!

Switch cards frequently. Download to other storage devices as Tony & Ken said. Back up. Back Up. Oh, and back up. A second camera of some sort would be the ultimate back up. You are carrying extra lenses. You're covered if one of them crashes. You don't have anything backing up the D7000. Monopod/tripod will extend your capabilites.

Have fun.

Looks like you're set. That Tamron will be nice for the trip, and the 50 will cover you for low light. I've traveled to Europe and to Peru with basically the same gear and never felt like I was missing anything.

The fisheye should be fun. Have a nice trip.

Agreed, and your advice was very good. However, the relevance of the thread has wandered off to its own expiration since the OP said they were going on this cruise in "a few weeks" from March of this year.
