Clients ALWAYS know everything. If they were really worried about quality they would still be demanding 4x5 transparencies.
It goes something like this: "Joe gives us 20+ megapixels. We only get 12 from Bud. We want Joe to do our work."

I really feel that the MP race has hit the wall, but that's a whole other issue. All I want for Christmas is a D3X resolution with the depth of MF and the ISO latitude of the D3s. 12MPs are plenty good for 90+ percent of us, especially when considering the smearing and loss of resolution as ISO increases on higher MP cameras.

I really thought about buying a Sony just for this use alone. It just didn't make long term sense, though.

Ariel, I'm with you. I really doubt my logic here, hence my post. Any gain by the D7000 isn't that extraordinary and the loss in versatility is more of an impact. If the dollars made more sense, I'd be more convinced. I'm hearing grumblings about multimedia more and more but just web output. The D3s' video isn't anything to write home about but I don't really use it, either...at least not yet. I'd rather just buy a dang video camera.

The irony: After the client gets the 20+ megapixel file they print it in 4 color offset with golf ball size dots, blown highlights, murky shadows and text all over your lovely composition. Go figure.

Oh, the agony...and the toilet paper on which they print. What's the point, huh? Very ironic indeed.
