Interesting read. I don't think I'd pay what they want, but it seems to be a nice product.

I'd say its a much better Value than the Leica X1, due to the fact that it is a REAL rangefinder. Not just a big-sensor p&s.
In my book, if it has no viewfinder, its a p&s.

No, and a split image finder does not a rangefinder make.
You can buy these as add ons for your slr.
The x100 focuses through the lens just like every other slr or modern mirrorless digital camera.
A rangefinder camera like the M9 uses a separate mechanism called a rangefinder and focuses through the viewfinder and helps you focus the lens so your image is sharp. The image from another window in the center of the camera is overlayed over the image you see in the viewfinder and when these images come together you are in focus. If you cover this window with your finger, you will not be able to focus. The lenses for a rangefinder camera also have distance markings on the lens allowing you to focus by guesstimating distance and not looking through the viewfinder.
I agree that the X100 is the better value. Integrated viewfinder is nice, the new hybrid tech looks promising and the price is better. But they are still both fixed lens, cropped sensor, digital cameras. The RD1 and the M8/M9 are the only two digital rangefinders available and the M9 is the only one currently being sold.

...and the M9 has a full frame 35mm sensor. Most likely with the least blurry Blur Filter on the market.

"Exceptional But Frustrating"
Boy, if this doesn't describe every Fuji camera I've ever used I don't know what does.

Usability is why I got rid of the only Fuji camera I ever owned and why I'll never go back. Very sad as the quality was never an issue.
Sorry to hear about the X100 but someone will get it right...
