5D MKII issues? - 04-19-2011, 05:10 PM

I have updated the firmware on my 5D MKII to 2.0.8 and now I have white balance and sharpness issues. It dosen't matter what lens I use amd my 7D is still sharp with the same lenses. Anyone else have this same issue and how can I go back to the older firmware?

Its possible the file was corrupted. Just install version 2.0.7. If you don't have a copy I have one I could try to send you but it is a 9.3MB file.

Thanks Jim. Anything is possible when downloading stuff like that. I need to try something but can't even find the older firmware versions on Canon's website. How can I get a copy of it from you? That file would be too big to email wouldn't it? Any idea where I may be able to download it? Any search I do takes me to the 2.0.8 update page on Canon's website. Do you think redoing the 2.0.8 procedure may help?

Sent it to you. Let me know if you got it OK. I can always burn you a CD and mail it to you but that takes time.

My Mark II has the 2.0.8 firmware and I have no issues. That version has been out for about 6 months so I doubt if it is the problem. I don't think you need to go back to 2.0.7, but you could of had a corrupt file download or a problem with the installation. My suggestion would be to download it from Canon again and then reinstall it. My guess is that is what Canon Support would tell you to try.

If that doesn't help, call Canon Support.
