I just got off the phone with Adorama to place my order. At first the salesman said they didn't have any in stock or a firm arrival date. After I told him about your shipping notification he was surprised to find them in stock. Apparently you will be among the first to actually get the X100 from Adorama. Quote:

Keith, thank you! I will be posting images as soon as I get it!
Wayne, I am going to be in Buenos Aires for a couple of weeks in June and the x100 is the only camera I plan to take with me. The camera is small, very quiet, with a fast lens, and capable of outstanding image quality, with an ideal focal length for street photography. I can't wait to use it! I will be taking it on a motorcycle trip to Colorado upon my return from B.A., and I'll get to try the in-camera stitching to create panoramas. I haven't been this excited about a camera in a long time.
Ken, yes, I think I placed my order the first day Adorama opened its pre-order queue, and I expected my camera to come with the first batch. Back in January I had no idea how well the camera was going to work, so I took a chance, knowing that I could always cancel my pre-order. I am glad I did!

I pre-ordered and then cancelled when it looked like the wait might stretch into months instead of weeks. My plan is to shoot the x100 as a one camera, one lens, one year project.

I didn't place my order till March 9th, doesn't look like I'm in the first batch. Still listed as 'pending' in my adorama account.

Paco, I am anxious to hear your evaluation of it. I cancelled my order after having read the online reviews. I may change my mind later and buy it for my wife who is finally starting to ask me to teach her how to shoot! I need to do it soon before she falls more in love with my M9 and take it from me... I guess I will just have to say that the Fuji is prettier... Happy shooting with your new gear!

Hi Tri - it's expected to be here on Wed, so hopefully by the weekend I will have some images to post and opinions to share. I am really busy at work this week so I may not have time to take the camera for a spin until the weekend - I have a shoot on Saturday, and will take it with me.
The M9 is awesome, and I am sure image quality of the x100 doesn't compare.

Got the camera in the afternoon, but I was too busy with work today to do much - only charge the battery, put in an old 2Gb card until my order with cards, extra battery and carrying pouch gets here. Love the design, the solid build and the AMAZING optical viewfinder, a joy! But what I love the most is how small and quiet it is in silent mode. Love it! I spent some time going thru the menus and setting custom settings. The customisable superimposed image data on the optical viewfinder is really spectacular.
Here are two pictures of my new camera next to two other cameras so that you can see the relative size:
1. Compared to my beloved Olympus OM-1, they are almost the same size, but the OM-1 is significantly heavier and the build is even more solid. The pancake lens makes the camera smaller than the OM-1 with the 50mm. I could use the leather case from the OM-1 with the x100, but I think I am going to go with a simple nylon pouch - I am not much into retro fashion statements or want the camera stolen!
2. Next to my usual camera, a Nikon D700 with battery grip and a 85mm portrait lens. The difference in bulk and weight is huge, but then the D700 is a more capable camera. Just can't get over the joy of having a small camera that takes professional quality images. I have been waiting for this for a long time, and this x100 was worth the wait.
To be continued...

I'm starting to wish I'd ordered somewhere else, I guess Adorama got a ton of pre-orders. I wonder how long it'll take to get around to a March 9th order.
