Straps, what are you using? - 05-18-2011, 11:42 PM

I am in search of something new. I like the strap that came with the camera but I want something more comfortable. I tend to pop my collar up when I have it on.

Are there any good hand straps for nikons? I like to have my camera in my and at all times but I do not feel safe with out something holding on.

Any help would be appreciated.

Some people don't like these and claim to have had problems with them, but I love mine. It works great!

I love that strap. I have never tried it on but I would be scared of having my 24-70 on it because I would be afraid to hit stuff with it. Another thing is that I have a messenger type bag, I would think it would conflict with taking it off and on.

I've been in the market for a new strap for awhile and while I was going to get a BR R-Strap I went ahead and bought a Split-Strap from Custom SLR | Innovative Camera Gear

It's not bad and I like it, but ehh still not my ideal strap. The search continues!

Rockin a pair of BlackRapids. I have the RS-4 and RS-7. You get used to keeping the camera safe. I routinely use mine with the 24-70 and often with the 70-200/2.8.

I bought a Black Rapid RS-4 about a week ago before our baseball season started... absolutely love it... kinda wish I'd gone ahead and bought one with more pockets, though.

Im told that the pockets are so small that they arent really all that useful... Unless your just trying to carry extra cards...

They will also hold batteries and biz cards.

Cards would be a great idea. I often get asked things while I have the strap with me. That would be a handy place to keep some, if I actually had any.

Love my second camera on my BR while my main camera and 300MM are on a monopod when shooting football.

For security I have one connector on my camera and one on the foot of my 70-200 and both are attached to the BR. Not great if you change lenses as it slows you up. But I don't generally change during a game. Never had a problem with either connector though.
